Greetings from Wild and Windy Lanham, MD!!
We had t-storms overnight, after a VERY foggy afternoon and evening.
Visibility last night was quite limited. I got .2 inches in the ol' rain
gauge from the mist. Then the t-boomers kept waking me up in the early AM.
THEN the winds hit (sounded and felt like a truck hitting the house), and
keep blowing. I have an old-fashioned barometer, called a Williamsburg
barometer, the kind that's like a glass pitcher, and the liquid rises up the
spout as the barometer falls. The spout has been half full all morning!!
The rain from the t-boomers early this AM left 1.24 inches in the rain gauge
and now guess what???? It's raining AND sleeting as I type--and I have a
final exam today at 5 PM. Should be an interesting drive to school!!
My hi temp for yesterday was 41 degrees, but it started rising after
midnight to reach a high of 61 and it's currently 41 degrees and falling.
