Typhoon
Jelawat headed northwest towards the East
China Sea on Tuesday after pounding Japan's Okinawa
island with torrential
rains and winds reaching 144 kilometers (90 miles) per
hour.
Two boys -- an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old --
suffered light cuts after they
were hit by flying debris. About 19,000 homes lost
electricity, with most
centered in the northern city of Nago, said a
spokeswoman for Okinawa Electric
Power.
