Carlotta is now a hurricane. It is located about 205 miles west southwest of Puerto Angel, Mexico. Movement is west near 14 mph. Max sustained winds are now up to 75mph with high gusts. More strengthening is expected. Pressure is down to 987 millibars.

Tropical storm winds extend outward to 125 miles, hurricane force winds 25 miles.

A Tropical Storm Warning and Hurricane Watch remain in effect along the Pacific Coast of Mexico from Puerto Angel to Zihuatanejo.

The storm is expected to brush the Mexican coast... flooding will be a major problem and will cause serious mudslides.
