With a weak inverted trough lying across the state in a NE-SW axis,
coupled with isentropic lift significant rainfall occurred overnight in
west central and north central Florida.
Here in Plant City on 1/7 I picked up .64" of MUCH needed rainfall, the
first significant rainfall since 12/18 and only the 4th significant
rainfall in 2 1/2 months, with the second year of our subtropical
jetstream busting La'Nina pattern in full force.
I recorded a minimum temperature of 63 deg this morning, the second
warmest minimum temperature ever for the date.
