RE: [CASI-SR] Suprise in North Carolina!

My Parents live just outside of Wilmington, NC, and my Mom said that they
got about 2 inches this morning. She woke up around 4:30 am to see why the
sensor light in the back yard was on--she thought the deer were back
munching on my Dad's new grass. She peeked out the window and said that it
was snowing to beat 60. She said that it tapered off around 9:30 this
morning.

Here in DC, it is lightly flurrying as I type. The flakes are small--almost
microscopic--not even a dusting on the cars (yet). Of course, the school
kids were disappointed because they wanted a snow day today (as did the
Federal Government workers!)!!

At my WX station in Lanham, MD, I had a morning low of 15 degrees.
Yesterday, my high temp reached 26 degrees, with sub-zero wind chills. Our
local meteorologists think we set a record yesterday with a record low dew
point/relative humidity. Our dew point yesterday was -12 degrees, and the
rh was 20%. It doesn't usually get that dry (more like arid) here. Some of
our "snowfall" has been verga because of the dry atmosphere.
