We here in S.MS use local repeater freqs for reporting storm reports
to a relay who then calls the NWS or in a NWS town they(NWS)
has a ham comein and use the local repeater.
THE REPEATER OWNERS have granted us access to thier repaters for local storm
reports. ALL OTHER TRFC is put on hold while storms are
in the area or they use a "LOCAL" simplex freq.
Although the idea of a NATIONAL simples freq is good it would not work in our area
as our counties are to large to be covered by one
operator on a simplex freq, and the repeaters have MULTIPLE
county coverage.
