"A National Aeronautics and Space
Administration-sponsored study in Atlanta has found
that the swapping of
trees and other vegetation for heat-absorbing
asphalt, concrete and
rooftops has created an urban heat island that can
generate its own winds
and thunderstorms, warm the city well into the night
and dramatically
increase the production of harmful ground-level
ozone."

"La Nina late winters and springs, historically have brought some of the
worst
tornado outbreaks. Tornadoes in La Nina years tend to be more
deadly too. Ironically
Today's operational medium range forecast (MRF) prognosis for 10
day or 240 hours is showing a pattern that could produce an
outbreak of
severe weather close to the 25th anniversary of the Super-Outbreak
of '74."
