I regret to report that CASI Member B.J. Hall passed away March 1. He
was a dedicated weather observer and Internet homesteader. His web page
at http://www.gabn.net/kd4ahqweather/ contained many excellent
resources, not the least of which was a complete list of non-NWS radars
in the US, state by state. He was a friendly online companion and I was
glad to have known him.

KA3BIS, "Boots" writes:

BJ was one of the most dedicated hams in the area. He
ran a well-equipped station and put his heart and soul into
his weather hobby - I wish I'd gotten to know him better
on a personal level - I know nothing of his background,
but worked closely with him sometimes on the weather nets.

Without any formal education in meteorology, he got very
good at interpreting his radar feeds, and I really got
a kick out of chasing storms when BJ was on the air to
let me know where the action was. I considered him to
be a real asset to the community and to amateur radio.

He also maintained a club web page for ARCA, along with
his weather web and his APRS stuff - for a man considered
disabled by many, he was one of the most able guys I've
known. I respected him deeply, and will miss his
cheerful voice and his dedication to the hobby.
