Strong Winds occured in North Georgia on Dec. 30, 1998. As of Dec. 29, =
1998 the strongest wind gust I have recorded at my station is 37 mph. =
That all changed on Dec.30, as a cold front passed through the area the =
winds kicked up and the power turned off. The wind was gusting from the =
low 30's to the low 40's. The highest wind gust I recorded was 43 mph =
from the WNW at 3:34 a.m.. The power went off briefly at two different =
times. At 5:30 the wind was still gusting into the mid 30's. For more =
details go to my web page and click on Recent Weather Events.
