Here at CASI HQ we have been receiving light snow all day with little accumulation. The temperature has ranged from 6 at 6am to 14 at 2pm. We have missed the bulk of the precip thus far, but the main shield is still to our west. Sleet should occur later this evening and freezing rain tonight.
In the east, the higher you are the better. NWS is calling for precip to change to rain above 3000 feet in PA this evening, and above 6000 feet in NC, but be frozen below that.
A new Tornado Watch has just been posted for Northern Florida.
This page shows how the warm air is surging northward west of the Appalachians but the cold air is trapped east of them. The white line is 32 degrees. http://www.ems.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wx/tempstats.cgi

We now have a little over 1/8" of ice on the tree limbs, my rain guage is froze, as is my anemometer. At least my temperature guage is still working correctly. I got some good shots of the ice and will be updating my page later tonight after the icing completely stops. They are expecting temperatures to warm to above freezing by mid evening tonight. The heavier precip is getting real close now, it is about half way accross Ga and should be here within an hour or so.
