I give short explanations of some types below, for more information see
their NEXRAD F.A.Q. at
http://www.accuweather.com/iwxpage/paws/dopplerfaq.htm
Base Reflectivity Tilt 1 (most common radar type)
Base Reflectivity Tilt 1 With Storm Info Table/Storm Timer (shows
MESO/TVS/HAIL etc and projected path of storm in 15,30,45,60 minutes)
Base Reflectivity Tilt 2
Base Reflectivity Tilt 3
Base Reflectivity Tilt 4
Extended Base Reflectivity (Like "Base Reflectivity Tilt 1" but out to
full scale 286mi.)
Composite Reflectivity (Takes all tilts into account)
Layer Composite Reflectivity - Low
Layer Composite Reflectivity - Mid
Layer Composite Reflectivity - High
Radial Wind Velocity Tilt 1 (For thunderstorm rotation and outflow
winds)
Radial Wind Velocity Tilt 2
Radial Wind Velocity Tilt 3
Radial Wind Velocity Tilt 4
Storm-Relative Radial Velocity Tilt 1 (For better detection of possible
tornadic signatures)
Storm-Relative Radial Velocity Tilt 2
Storm Total Surface Rainfall Accumulation
One Hour Surface Rainfall Accumulation
Three Hour Surface Rainfall Accumulation
Vertically Integrated Liquid (Good for detecting Hail vs. Rain)
Echo Tops
