Members: I am trying to find an inexpensive, ad-free, large-capacity solution for the CASILIST but so far have come up empty-handed. My provider Pair.Com says that they have something like what I need, called Smartlist, but their documentation is for them, not for the end user, so I am forced to read a long online manual without any knowledge of how this is set up. At this time I have not been able to get any help from Pair or its users about this program - apparently no one has gotten it to work yet ;) If any of you are familiar with the UNIX - based Smartlist and its interaction with Procmail please let me know. If I can finally get this set up there is a possibility that I could separate the CASILIST into regional areas or break out the storm-reports into a different list. I would also like to consider how I can better merge the CASILIST with the CASI Web Site in times when large storm systems are affecting the US. If you have any ideas on this please let me know. Now a Warm Welcome to New Members since last posting in 1998. There was an unusual amount of New Members this last time, due in part to the Christmas holiday, the large number of storms, and, hopefully, the new CASI front page. I would especially like to welcome Dr. Dave Walker, Chief Meteorologist for FOX-8 TV in Johnstown PA. He has followed the work of CASI for some time and is glad to join us. Also weatherTap.com has joined CASI as an organizational Member. WeatherTap is a quality provider of NEXRAD and Lightning Data on the web for a reasonable price. http://www.weathertap.com/ New Members: Barbara White Barrigada Gu Brad Barrett Chapel Hill NC Chris White Fredericksburg VA Matthew Sickles Apex NC Matt Capper non US X Glenn Rolph Jessup MD larry dalton Arcadia Fl Sidney Anderson Effingham SC Robert Parsons Crossville TN weatherTAP.com Crossville TN Larry Davis Ebensburg PA John LaJoie Detroit MI J{at}D Storm Chasers Detroit MI Jean Maurie Puhlman West Palm Beach Fl Marcella Durham Ellicott City Md Tom Eckhoff Cole Camp Mo Michael Perritt Perkasie PA Dave Walker Davidsville PA Jimmy Powell Sikeston MO Missouri SKYWARN Team Sikeston MO Derek Jacobs Canton Ct Paul Dolan Port Jefferson Station NY Rick Clay Winston-Salem NC David Pitts Alpharetta GA Jeanne Pullum Milton Fl Bill Lindgren Milton FL -- ============================================================== Jesse Ferrell - Meteorologist/Web Dev. - j{at}weatherwatchers.org Central Atlantic Storm Investigators - www.weatherwatchers.org "They're not who we're looking for; they're just meteorologists- storm chasers." --Peter Watts, "Millennium" || ICQ No. 136832 ||
