Hey guys and gals... With my eyes glued to radars and NWS discos and SW
statements the other night, I noticed something that sparked my
interest... yet know nothing about. T'WAS a Gravity Wave. It was
mentioned in the early Sunday morning CTP weather disco... supposed to
be some weather phenomena? A later disco stated that a textbook example
occured near Lancaster PA around 7am Sun Morn... Temperature raised
from, I believe, 41 or 42, then jumped to 52 in less than an hour, then
back down to 42or so. Hmm, Gravity Wave, sounds like something out of a
Star Trek flick. If someone could answer this for me I would appreciate
it?
Thanks --Daniel

At home (in Dawson county, about 5 mi east of Amicalola Falls),
I had 12 degrees this morning at 6:30 am.
Listening to the Dahlonega repeater, temperatures ranged from
12-18 degrees in Lumpkin county, 15-18 in Hall. The repeater
telemetry on Black Mtn (north of Dahlonega) reported *3* degrees!
Supposed to be even colder tonight...

Yep that's Emily alright! I remember her well - she threatened the coast for a
while when I was at UNCA... considered going to the coast to observe her but she
eventually left only affecting the 'Banks....
