Hi folks, I forgot to explain how the Observations page works (http://www.weatherwatchers.org/obs/). First of all, if you have live weather instrumentation on the Net please let me know so I can add you. *If you have a weather station listed on that page, or are interested in the technicalties of how the page is produced, read on: How I am retrieving the current temperatures is as follows. If you are running the WeatherView32 software, I am hitting your website and grabbing the hourly.txt file every 2 hours (maximum the CASI web server will let me do) and cutting out the appropriate lines and columns with UNIX. If you are running other software but have a text page I am attempting to do the same thing to it, but of course that is trickier due to the different formats. If you have only graphical data on your site then there is nothing I can retrieve unless you have a small graphic like Charlie A. does (and that was darn hard to fit in there, buddy! ;)) So, number one, keep an eye on that page and if you see something other than a temperature displaying in the Curr. Temp column let me know as I really just started testing this program tonight. If I have too much trouble with the non-weatherview software files then I may just have to call them N/A. If you are running the WeatherView software but there is an N/A under your Curr.Temp then it is because I found that you were not uploading the hourly.txt file or it was not updating. If you want your Curr.Temp to appear there then please start uploading the hourly.txt file and let me know. Now the only other thing is : for those of you who have a Curr.Temp on that page, this will cause 12 hits to your website per day, which won't affect graphical counters but will appear in your overall statistics. If this is not acceptable, let me know and I can assign your temp N/A. -- ============================================================== Jesse Ferrell - Meteorologist/Web Dev. - j{at}weatherwatchers.org Central Atlantic Storm Investigators - www.weatherwatchers.org "Dust will make you blind, nothing you can find; Running scared !
