Here is a report from Charlie about the meteors in his area. I heard from someone at work yesterday that they were seeing 2 per minute last night. At this time (4am) I am not seeing any though it is partly cloudy. Will check my viewing area and look again before work... Subject: Leonids in Pa ? Yep! Tonight was one of them. While everything I had read had said the meteor shower would be over on the 17th, I happened to wander across a site on the Net that was still reporting sightings....in the South (Thanks Herb!) So at 1 AM (and about 32 degrees??)...I wandered outside in the dark (No doubt being follwed by a bear?....) Anyone who has been up here knows, on a clear night, the sky fills with stars. Took a few moments to find the directions, and it became clear that the leonid meteor shower was not over. Many minor remote 'specs', and then, 4 magnificent shots right across the sky within 15 minutes of each other. The view from inside was not as good. Took one more wander out at about 2:30 AM (18th). Took about 4 or 5 minutes, and there was another 'beauty'. So out this note goes to a few of my science 'buddies' (Hey, Susan, I really hope you saw it!!!!)
