ubject: Just a quick note.......... Date: Thu, 15 Oct 1998 20:40:07 -0400 (EDT) From: CASI-South <stormchaser{at}coastalnet.com> To: casilist{at}weatherwatchers.org I will be out of town (Wilmington to be exact) this weekend for some more Red Cross training; Administering A Small Disaster Operation. If you have SKYWARN classes coming up in your district, please post them to the list, I have had various inquiries about classes across the Eastern part of the state of NC and have had to tell them that I didn't know of any. Also if you have any Seminars, Conferences, etc. post them also There are more and more people gaining an interest in Weather and how it works, we need to be able to supply them with this information When you do have a SKYWARN class, one of the things your Public Relations officer can do is invite various Disaster Related organizations such as, Fire Department Volunteers, Rescue Workers, Red Cross Workers, etc. In the state of North Carolina, SKYWARN classes count as continuing education classes for Volunteer Fire and Rescue Personnel, and it would also give you some more informed eyes in the sky........ Just a couple of suggestions to help boost your SKYWARN program Talk to everyone soon Chris, CASI-South Leader
