CASILIST : 3 Hurricanes, One Headed Towards Florida

Well unless you've been in a cave this week I'm sure you know by now
that Hurricane Georges is heading towards southern FL tonight.
Again, CASI Members in the area are encouraged to document and report on
the storm as long as it is safe.
At this time most professional forecasts are pointing to a landfall on
the Florida Keys Friday morning of a Category 1 storm. Winds of
70-100mph are possible in SW most FL at that time with winds of Tropical
Storm Force winds over the southern third of the state possible.
In addition, we have two *other* hurricanes in the Atlantic, Jeanne and
Ivan, neither of which are near land and also Tropical Depression #11
which gave Bermuda some trouble yesterday but is now heading out to
sea. This season has equalled or past all of Dr. Gray's predictions
thus far and we're only 13 days past the peak of an "average" season.
I am going to try to get a good night's sleep tonight in order that I
may *not* get one tomorrow night. As you know I feel a fierce
dedication and harbor great interest in viewing and archiving weather
information during a major storm, as well as keeping the public updated
through the CASI Website. I have collected extensive views of the
storms thus far and will have summaries and graphics up on the CASI
Website after all this calms down.
It is kind of anti-logical to place myself in the middle of a hurricane
virtually when in fact I have the windows closed and it's 49 degrees
outside; frost is likely here tonight at HQ. But it is such a life I
lead here in the North. ;)
