My 2cents worth, I think the media overhyped Bonnie because they underhyped Fran. We've all heard that the damage from Bonnie was minimal, nothing like Fran, even though they were supposed to be the same strength and hit in the same area. The highest sustained wind that I saw on land was in the low 50's even though the storm should have had 115mph sustained winds. I have all they buoy and surface data from the event, I'll have to go through it and be more specific about that.
