Hurricane Bonnie is making landfall at Wilmington NC with 115 mph winds sustained. Fortunately most of the high winds are to the ocean-side of the storm. The highest sustained wind recorded thus far on land is 42 mph in Wilmington, with gusts to 74. Immense flooding is taking place with 5" of rain in Wilmington. Bonnie is expected to continue north through eastern north carolina into Delaware, but it is moving slowly so the battering of winds and rain will continue for up to an additional 12 hours for some portions of NC.
