Well I have to get some sleep eventually. I will probably get up for
the 5am statements then take a nap until the 11's. ;)
To keep up with the storm, keep your eye on

(which also links to other CASI Members' Tropical Pages)
And for satellites I sure have been having fun with
Basically best estimations at this time is that Bonnie is going to
increase in strength and hammer some portion of the Bahamas tomorrow,
then threaten the SouthEast US Coast. She is already practically a
hurricane and surely will be declared one at 5am. According to the Sea
Surface Temperature Map at
http://www.fnoc.navy.mil/otis/otis_nrus_sst.gif Bonnie will be going
through warm waters for a while, though not as warm as today. I think
rapid strengthening will be likely but maybe not as soon as some people
are callilng for. Bonnie does have the potential to become a major
hurricane. Where she will hit (or not) is still a guessing game - but
this afternoon the Hurricane Center's GFDL model was still calling for
much more chance of landfall than the other forecast models.
Charley will be over with by this time tomorrow night, having dropped
4-8" of rain over Texas.
The "tropical wave" behind Bonnie may soon be declared a Tropical
Depression. The Hurricane Center is always hesitant to name a storm
without "wind proof" however it looks quite impressive on satellite.
