Well folks, I have a little something to show for my last week of work - couldn't finish it in time, but since Tropical Storm Bonnie is creeping up on the islands, I have partially completed that portion of the project. **NOTE: This page is not for public use - yet. I will email you all again when it is complete and ready for public use. Right now it's just a partial test page and I only have it online for the benefit of the CASI Members. Please check out the crippled-until-I-get-done-with-it CASI Tropical Surface Observations Page. You can click on any red dot to obtain the latest surface observations, if the station is active, which most of them are but a couple I noticed are not. Right now the ONLY stations which will work are those in the immediate path of Bonnie - the northern islands through part of the Dominican Republic. It ain't much yet but I wanted to get it up tonight because of Bonnie. Still to do: Add "help" section. Fix a number of stations that are in the wrong place or wrongly ID'd. Make Synoptic#/ICAO# come up in the status bar. Link to a framed page which displays both NWS and WeatherUnderground formats, and complete station information, perhaps more. Add radar circles. Add webcam dots. Add similar product for African Coast, SE US, E. Pacific, Hawaii, Guam **** Right now which page you will go do will depend on what kind of browser you are using: **** NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR 4.0+ ONLY http://www.weatherwatchers.org/tropical/surface/index.html A dynamic HTML page which overlays the CASI Map on the current Purdue Tropical Surface Map: ANYTHING ELSE (NS 3-, IE, etc.) http://www.weatherwatchers.org/tropical/surface/index2.html A plain HTML page which shows the CASI Map and the Purdue Tropical Surface Map below it for reference. Again, right now only the portion of the map near Bonnie is clickable but it will all be by tomorrow or Saturday.
