TO: CASILIST MEMBERS TO: NON-CASILIST MEMBERS TO: CASI ADMIN [Note to Non-CASILIST Members, this is not a CASILIST posting, you are still removed from the list. This is a major change to the administration of CASI and as such you may need to know. These announcments should number only a few per year.] Hi folks, I was going to try to wait to announce this until I had the pages designed, but with a day's worth of New Member Processing today followed up by a redesign of the CASI Weather Station software and a Tropical project I was working on, I am beginning to realize it's not going to happen this week. ENCWW (the Eastern North Carolina Weather Watchers) and CASI are merging. Chris Phillips of ENCWW has agreed to head up part of CASI called CASI-SOUTH, while I will continue to administrate CASI overall, he will be available to setup educational conferences in the South (officially NC-FL but really anyone who's there can attend). Because I can so rarely get down south now, I don't feel that I can give the Southern Members the personal attention they deserve. ENCWW will become CASI-SOUTH on Jan. 1, 1999 and all Members of ENCWW will become Members of CASI. Meantime ENCWW will wind-down its Member services and convert to CASI. The CASI Website will eventually have webpages for both divisions with current news and conference updates, but as I say, this is not something I can get done this week. Also I need to get the original CASI logos from backup to redesign them for North and South. This will probably also involve a redesign of the front page of CASI to make it more interesting and informative. So, in summary, Chris Phillips of ENCWW will be holding meetings and conferences for CASI Members who can't attend the ones this far north. Information follows on details on his upcoming fall conference for ENCWW/CASI-SOUTH, it sounds great and I wish I could be there. If you need any more information on it please contact Chris directly. Thanks to Chris and ENCWW for recognizing this need and fulfilling it! Also Northern Members remember that there will be the Eastern US Chaser Picnic on September 6 NW of CASI HQ in Meadville PA, held by Hyundai Team Extreme.
