TO: CASILIST MEMBERS TO: NONCASILIST MEMBERS TO: CASI ADMIN MEMBERS [Note: If you have requested to be unsubscribed from the CASILIST in the past, don't fear, you're not back on it. This is a CASI ADMIN announcement, an announcement of major importance to CASI Members. There are usually only a couple of these per year] There are two events coming up which you Members may want to attend. The first is the CASI North Meeting. This will be held here at HQ in State College, PA. State College is in the geographical center of Pennsylvania. This will give CASI Members who live in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic (though any Member from anywhere is welcome to come) a chance to get together and meet each other face-to-face. Please bring any interesting weather or storm video and photos and we'll show them. I will be showing some of my video and also pictures from when Hurricane Hugo hit my area in 1989 in Western NC, and photos from when lightning struck my house in the same area in 1987. I'll also give a description of the various weather stations, computers, and the CASICAM here and show you how I have them set up to connect to the Internet. You can meet Vehicle #1 if you haven't yet, though she's looking a little worse for the wear after 100,000 miles and an accident. This will be an informal meeting though of course any ideas for CASI in general will be entertained. You may bring guests; anyone may attend but this is a relatively small house so don't bring the calvary. Some sort of food will be provided; I'm no cook myself so if somebody can grill out well I'll secure a grill. I'd like to hold it on a Saturday if possible, on one of these dates: August 8 August 15 August 29 September 5 The latter will fall on the same weekend as Steve Marshall's Eastern Chaser Picnic described below so that might be a good date if we can do it. I am ignoring August 22 as that's when PSU students come in and I found last year this causes traffic to be completely still, backed up for up to 5 miles out of town in every direction. **If you think you might want to attend this meeting please let me know ASAP, and let me know which dates would be better or worse for you. -- Second, Team Extreme Hyudai (http://www.csonline.net/storm/) will be holding the first annual Eastern Chaser's Picnic in Meadville, PA on September 6 (Sunday). This event is not related to CASI at this time except by genre, but the two events might be combined next year, who knows. I will certainly be at the Picnic this year. The media will also be there, see below.
