The SPC's Moderate Risk of Severe Thunderstorms has been expanded to include all of PA, WV, VA, southern NY and NE NC. The rest of the Northern CASI region from SC to MA is under a Slight Risk. So be careful out there today folks! http://www.nssl.noaa.gov/~spc/products/outlook/dy1.gif This event is not predicted to be as widespread as Sunday's outbreak but the cells that do form in a scattered fashion may be severe. The South is already getting started this morning with Tornado Warnings present this morning in TN and NC. Supercells, isolated tornadoes, and bow echoes (strong winds) will be the threats today. SPC: "THE FAST MOVING COLD FRONT WILL BE ADVANCING INTO THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY AND SHOULD ALLOW SEVERE STORMS TO RAPIDLY DEVELOP THROUGH THE AFTERNOON INTO THE CNTRL APPALACHIANS. FRONT SHOULD EXTEND ALONG THE RIM OF THE APPALACHIANS BY THE EARLY EVENING...AND WILL PUSH QUICKLY OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST OVERNIGHT. FURTHER DEVELOPMENT WILL OCCUR BOTH ALONG FRONT AND OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN BY LATE IN THE DAY...WHICH WILL SPREAD RAPIDLY EWD." -- ============================================================== Jesse Ferrell - Meteorologist/Web Dev. - j{at}weatherwatchers.org Central Atlantic Storm Investigators - www.weatherwatchers.org "And here a twister comes... here comes the twister." --Talking Heads || ICQ No. 136862 ||
