PSU has updated their Northeast/MidAtlantic Real-Time Surface Analysis
fields (these are great hourly graphics if you haven't already see them
and live from NC - ME) to include JAVASCRIPT Animations of:
[ Temperature | Dewpoint | Sea-Level Pressure | Streamline | Wet Bulb
Temp ]
[ Lifted Index | CAPE | CIN | Moisture Divergence | Frontogenesis ]

{Helpful Note: JAVA and JAVASCRIPT are two completely different things.
Javascript is code you put in your web page and runs in all modern
browsers. Java is a programming language that allows for an application
to run inside your browser. Java is notoriously unstable on many
browsers and cannot be seen on Windows 3.11. Generally Java should be
avoided unless the application is complex. Here at PSU they have
unfortunately confused the two, calling these animations Java, when
thankfully they are not -- only simple Javascript that should be
accessible by all modern browsers.}

I finally convinced Intellicast today to fix a problem that has been on
their site since the opened it years ago - the Northern Lakes Regional
Radar, linked from their USA Radar at
http://www.intellicast.com/weather/usa/radar/ was linking to APN,
Alpena, which did not exist. they updated it today to go to MQT,
Marquette.

Intellicast has updated their websites to no longer allow linking to GIF
images, or at least the old ones. If you go to one of these (for
example www.intellicast.com/weather/usa/radar.gif) you will get
directions on how to get the actual page. This is the beginning of
their campaign to keep Internet users from accessing their images
without seeing their advertisements. Sounds kind of crummy at first but
then again that's how they keep it free.

AccuWeather will be bringing their GetWeather section back to their
website www.accuweather.com in a week or two, with more images than they
had before. The weather will be personalized to your location.

GOPOST.COM's lightning images are back, as is the Granville county
(NCentral NC) radar. They suffered through a website redesign last week
which changed the locations of the images.

SE LTG - http://www.gopost.com/WEATHER/ltse4p.gif

And finally just for kicks did anyone notice that the Weather Channel
Website (www.weather.com) had the word "weather" misspelled for 24 hours
yesterday? The headline at the TOP of their front page said:

StormWatch
Severe weaher continues
to plague an area from
Texas to the Great Lakes

Such are the dangers of keeping dynamic content on your front page I
guess...
