Actually an important note for the upcoming week for you folks in the =
central and southern
Atlantic states. The navy NOGAPS models and the MRF spin up a storm =
system over
GA/SC on Monday that strengthens, possibly explosively as it heads =
east/northeast. With
the 850mb 0C isotherm extending down into South Carolina, there may be =
significant snows or
a wintry mix even some coastal sections from Washington southward!=20

How far north this system gets is subject to debate, it really depends =
on whether the current
system slated to be east of the Cape on Saturday moves right along and =
gets out of the way. If this=20
happens, then even eastern New England may be subject to a wild =
blizzard. To give you an
idea, the EMWF and NOGAPS expect a 978mb low well southeast of the Cape =
by Tuesday,
with a 1035mb high just northwest of Caribou Maine. This represents a =
57mb gradient which would likely cause 70kt wind [hurricane force] =
winds!!
