This past January, a huge ice storm hit Eastarn Ontario and nothern New
York. The storm first hit Sunday night around 2:30a.m, the power went off
at my house on Wednesday, it never came back on until Saturday. Each day
the ice rain kept building up, and eventually tree branches started to snap
all over the place. More power and phone lines went down in the weight of
the ice. Even though we were hit hard by the ice storm, the trees suffered
the most, and will take years before many of these trees grow back. Since
our area was considered a disaster area, school was cancelled for two weeks.
Even though the ice storm passed, it left dangerous obsitcals if you are
driving.
Parts of the main highway had to be closed off due to numerous
accidents. I survived through the power outage by trying to cook food over
the fireplace (thank god we had one), and by trying to stay as warm as I can
get. The temperature in the house dropped to 10 degrees celcius. This
storm has taught everybody who was effected to be more prepared and take the
necessary precautions to prevent injury.

I hope this little story about my experience interested you and hopefully
it can be posted.

I noticed that you post web address on your site, I have a tornado page,
with tons of awsome pictures. The website address is
