Had some strange weather today here at HeadQuarters... we still have
several inches of snow on the ground, and this morning we added Hail to
that! Not sleet, the winter weather frozen precipitation also known as
ice pellets, but genuine hail from a convective thunderstorm. This was
the first time I have witnessed hail fall atop snowcover.

I awoke to a crack of thunder at 11am this morning. The temperature was
37 degrees. The thunderstorm continued with heavy rain through 12:30.
>From 12:10 to 12:20 we had hail, very small, bigger than sleet but
smaller than a pea. There was enough of it to start to turn the ground
white where the snow had melted. We also had more thunder around 1:20
this afternoon. So looks like severe weather season is going to come
whether it's still winter or not in PA!
