If you haven't been watching the news or TWC lately you may not know
that there is a monster storm in the Pacific. Wednesday morning a small
storm developed off the west coast of Mexico. Since then it has
exploded into what is now Category 5 Hurricane Linda! Winds are 175 mph
sustained at this time and it is hoped that the western ridge will keep
it from the Baja area. As usual my recommendation for the coolest
pictures is the UHawaii site at
http://lumahai.soest.hawaii.edu/Tropical_Weather/tropical.shtml
Specific tropical position data can be obtained from the weather channel
at
http://www.weather.com/weather/maps/tropical/p_strm1_info_440x275.html
and from AccuWeather at http://www.accuweather.com/hcnt/hcnt_index (if
the page will load anyway...)
I understand that there were some intense storms in the NW NC mountains
today, dropping 1.5" Hail at the higher elevations. The entire CASI
region has obtained some much needed rain!
That's all for now folks.
