Hi,

First I'd like to introduce myself to the list. My name is Mike Reddin and
I live in Beverly Massachusetts. I am a part-time Meteorologist for
Precision Weather Forecasting and I am a certified SAWRS Weather Observer.
My 'Real' job is running a local Internet Service Provider (ISP) when I'm
not using the T1 for weather watching! :)

I have a number of graphics and text covering the 'Great Blizzard of '97'..
That is aka 'the April Fool's Blizzard' in New England. This includes RUC
images (Rapid Update Cycle), Intellicast Radar Summaries and NexRad from
Boston, and text data plus full discussions from the 'Boston' weather
service office. I also have some photos I still have not scanned in but are
decent shots of minor damage and big drifts.

I also have satellite and some nexrad images of Hurricane Danny's Gulf
Coast strike and its
subsequent 'surprise' re-development on the east coast.

There is a bit much to attach to this list so it might be better if I can
organize them first then
either link them through the CASI website or FTP them to CASI for direct
incorporation. Also
in the near future I [as an ISP] may have some things to offer CASI [ie
Mirror space and such].

At any rate one of my chief interests besides storm tracking is prediction
and analysis. I tend to
document NGM/ETA/AVN/RUC images to document projected [and analysed] storm
structure.

I tend to track cases of 'explosive' storms as the TPC would track
hurricanes because of my feeling
that cases of explosive developments [baroclinic in nature] on the east
coast tend to become
hybrid systems [taking on some barotropic characteristics or 'warm core']
feeding off of convection in and around the storm center. Hence it's
'dangers' can be equivelent to cat-1 and sometimes even cat-2 hurricanes.
The April 1st blizzard is a marginal case of a nor'easter that became a
hybrid system when explosive thunderstorm development occured near the low
center.

I am not a degreed Meteorologist as such but do have 10 years of experience
an model analysis and forecasting. So if any of the more 'theory' oriented
Meteorologists on the list finds an error in my analysis or I overlooked
something please chime in (as this will only improve my skill and the
quality of any reports).

Anyways feel free to drop me some email; My homepage is kind of a mess
right now so I will
clean that up before I publish the address. [My Business homepage is
displayed below].
