CASI FOLKS: I've been holding out on you on this one, or maybe I just
forgot, which is the truth! I had found this page several weeks ago
then let it slip out of mind. If you didn't know about NCDC (my old
stomping grounds) putting national Nexrad images on line, read on!
This is apparently a joint effort of WSI and the US Government, which
are strange bedfellows; as you may recall WSI shut down a NASA web site
which contained Nexrad precip estimate images in 1995, after restricting
several university sites. The word is that the Private Weather
Providers have a contract with the govmt. that only They can provide
real-time NexRad data through 1999. After that, I guess all's fair game
so it should be interesting.

The National Climatic Data Center has now placed Doppler Radar
imagery on-line.
Mosaic Images are available once daily from
April 1, 1995 thru April 18th, 1997.
Hourly Mosaic images are available from
April 19th, 1997 to the present.
THE CATCH: The availability of the most recent
images is delayed approximately two days to
comply with copyright requirements.
