I sound like a "broken record" this summer but again my temperature and
heat index records have been approached or broken again here at
WeatherMatrix HQ in State College PA. Records for these stations go back
to 2001 and I don't recall more hot or humid times since I moved here in 1997.

NEW ALL-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD ESTABLISHED:

The high temperature today was 98.0 on both weather stations. This TIES
the all-time record high set on 08/02/02 on the Primary Weather Station and
BREAKS the old all-time record of 97.0 on the Secondary Weather Station.

HEAT INDEXES IN TOP 5 (ALL-TIME RECORD WAS SET LAST MONTH):

The heat index today was 107 on the Primary Weather Station (record 110 SET
LAST MONTH) and 106 on the Secondary Weather Station (record was 108 on
07/02/02).

LATE EVENING / WARM NIGHT TEMPERATURE RECORD ESTABLISHED:

Previously, the warmest temperature at 10pm at WeatherMatrix HQ was 83
degrees, set last month. Tonight it was 84. The record for midnight is 81
but I'm not sure if we'll tie that or not, as it is 81 now at 11 pm. Our
heat index was still 100 at 7 pm.
