Tropical Storm Washi moved onshore near Hanoi, Vietnam Sunday
morning. Washi was just over Tropical Storm strength with sustained
winds of 40 mph and gusts to 50 mph. Hanoi reported sustained winds
of 20-30 mph with gusts close to 40 mph as Washi moved in. Tropical
Storm Washi will dissipate over the mountains of southwest
China later this weekend, but is likely to trigger flooding
downpours and mudslides for the next 2-3 days over portions of
southwest China and northernmost Vietnam.
