Hang in there, Jesse. Here in NJ, we were in a similar short-term drought. I even watered my lawn for the first time in 4 years!
This past week broke it for us. My work location (about 15 miles NNW of my home) picked up 6.75" of rain just this week. My home picked up 4.55". Everything is green again.
Last night, around 5:15 PM was very interesting at my home when 3 severe storms converged. I had a rainfall rate of 6+"/hr., but it only lasted a short time. The cloud to ground lightning was the worst I've seen in years, with 3 homes in my neighborhood getting direct hits. The lightning lasted almost an hour.
This morning dawns with mostly clear skies, but the dew point is still hanging in the upper 60's for now.
