"KABUL, Afghanistan, April 6 - At least 16 people, most of them presumed to
be military personnel, were killed Wednesday when an American military
helicopter crashed in bad weather near Ghazni, south of Kabul, the capital,
a United States military spokeswoman said.

The crash occurred about 2 p.m. in a dust storm, said the Afghan police
chief of Ghazni, Abdul Rahman Sarjang, who was the first to arrive at the
scene. "It most probably crashed due to the bad weather, because still the
weather is very bad, there is a lot of dust and fog in the air, and you
cannot see more than 50 meters," he said in a telephone interview."
