Tuesday in Western Australia near Cape Londonderry. Late Tuesday
afternoon, EST, Ingrid is centered inland about 35 miles south of
Kalumburu. With highest sustained winds near 105 mph, the storm is
moving south-southwestward at 9 mph. Ingrid will weaken on a southward
heading during the next 24-48 hours, but heavy, flooding rainfall and
the threat of damaging winds will persist near its path.
Philippine Sea. Late Tuesday afternoon, EST, the core of Typhoon Roke
is located 375 miles north-northwest of Koror, Palau. The storm is
tracking westwards at 18 mph with highest sustained winds of 75 mph.
Steady westward motion as is forecast for Roke would put the storm
within striking distance of the eastern Philippines Thursday night,
local time.
