Storm Ma-on is about 1000 miles northeast of Tokyo. moving towards the
northeast at 45 mph. Ma-on is undergoing a transition to an
extratropical, mid-latitude storm.
Bay of Biscay with high winds and rough seas. Reports from ships and
buoys indicated winds to hurricane force in one instance and to
between 40 and 50 mph in many others. Wave heights across the region
are between 10 and 20 feet. On land, some of these strong winds are
being felt from the northern coast of Spain up along the western
coast of France to the southern coasts of England and Ireland. In
Portugal, winds from the storm caused extensive damage to trees,
power lines and greenhouses on Friday.
Ko Lanta, a half-foot of rain feel within about 30 hours, ending
early Sunday EDT. Ko Samui had a little over 3 inches during the same
period.
