I observed a rotating funnel cloud at 6:45pm tonight at Middleton St. on
Long Beach, NC (between Wilmington & Myrtle Beach). It appeared to be 1/4
to 1/2 mile to the East, probably over front or second row on western Long
Beach or eastern Yaupon Beach. It was spinning when we saw it but only
lasted a few minutes. We followed the wall cloud to the beach as it moved
offshore and saw a number of interesting lowerings but no more funnel
cloud. I figured it would spin up again over water but I guess the storm
was dissipating.

As we were leaving, a bright rainbow appeared to the northeast, then
another rainbow joined it to make it a double.

This was from storms which were influenced by Hurricane Alex as it moved
offshore.

Will send pictures tomorrow.
