Tropical Storm Mindulle is barely clinging to storm status as it
skirts the eastern shores of China. Late Saturday morning, EDT, the
ill-defined core of Mindulle is less than 100 miles east of Shanghai,
China. Picking up forward speed, it is headed towards the north-
northeast at 17 mph, but with highest sustained winds of only 40 mph.
Mindulle will be over South Korea within another 18 to 30 hours, and
it may no longer hold storm status by the time it crosses land.

Some staggering rainfall was observed in Taiwan Friday through
Saturday. At Taichung, rainfall was 22.7 inches whereas Tainan picked
up 12 inches.

Tropical Storm Tingting is continuing in its path away from land
over the western North Pacific Ocean. Late Saturday morning, EDT,
Tingting is located 810 miles east of Tokyo, Japan. Holding highest
steady winds of about 45 mph, Tingting is scooting towards the
northeast at 20 mph. An open-water track is forecast for Tingting,
which will loose its tropical status before reaching any land.

Two-day rainfall at Tabou, Ivory Coast, was 9.5 inches, of which
half was collected with six hours.

Friday, Hanoi, Vietnam, suffered through suffocating heat and
humidity. With strong sunshine and little wind, temperatures soared to
98 degrees with dew points in the lower to middle 80s. These factors
yielded a top AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature (tm) of 133 degrees in
this capital city.

Southern South America has been rather stormy of late, and parts
of the region were belted by strong winds, rain and snow on Friday. In
Argentina, Puerto San Julian awoke with winds howling 55-60 mph,
temperatures near freezing, snow falling and an inch of snow on the
ground. It felt as cold as 9 degrees as indicated by the AccuWeather
RealFeel Temperature (tm) at this city near the Atlantic coast.

A tropical depression, the second of the season, is over the
open, eastern North Pacific Ocean. Near midnight, local time, the
depression is centered about 900 miles west-southwest of Cabo San
Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico, where it holds top sustained winds
a little shy of 30 mph. The depression is moving towards the west at
11 mph. This depression is forecast to head westward on an open-water
path for the next 24-36 hours. By the end of the weekend, it may
dissipate.
