Between 0400 yesterday, the 10th, and 0700 this morning I measured
2.12 inches of rain which included a period of wet snow. This is by
far the most I've recorded in such a short time since we moved here
in August, 1999. While not a lot by eastern/southern standards, that
much rain is definitely unusual out here, especially in June when we
tend to be starting our driest period.
After a good snow season with over 180 inches, rains like this could
make a pretty good dent in the drought situation that we've been in
for over five years now. We sure hope so, anyway.
Bob
