Monday night. Damage was still seen but on a much smaller scale.
is what the local media is telling us:
- Over 1,000 trees down in DFW area parks (doesn't include trees in
neighborhoods)
- Over 8,000 lightning strikes recorded for Monday night's storms
(doesn't include Tuesday night which was also quite a light show...)
- Approx 300,000 folks are still without power and some that were
restored from Monday night's storms are out again after Tuesday
night's storms
- Obviously, street lights and traffic lights around the area are
still not functional.
of trees are cracked off and lying in folk's yards and (for the
unlucky ones) on their houses. Never mind those trees that are
completely uprooted. These are old trees that are nearly three feet
in diameter... Primarily hackberries, pecans, and oaks...
years in this area; makes for intresting times...
into the weekend.
