Tornados raked parts of rural Nebraska Sunday evening as severe
thunderstorms moved into the central part of the state and swept eastward.

A tornado near Cushing in Howard County tore the roof off a pole barn,
overturned a delivery van and uprooted trees, a Howard County dispatcher
said. "The power is out to all of Cushing," dispatcher Carol Williams said.

Hall County reported power lines down in some areas and a grain bin blown
across a road just north of Grand Island. Tree limbs also were littered
across several streets in Grand Island. Grand Island Police Sgt. Dean
Elliott said a tree came down on top of an unoccupied vehicle in the 2000
block of First Street, between Tilden and Clay.

In northeast Nebraska, the National Weather Service reported a tornado in
Holt County. A sheriff's dispatcher confirmed a tornado had been sighted,
but said she had no other information on it.
