of each other, all reporting the same sight, a tornado touching down in
Rock County, Minnesota. Rock County officials tell us most of the damage
is in the eastern part of the county and it appears to be primarily out
buildings. Others in the county say they're hearing of damage near Blue
Mound state park and we're told at least one farmhouse got hit hard by the
storm. Storms also pounded on southeastern South Dakota, Clay and Union
counties especially, but officials there say there wasn't much damage, just
some downed trees."
Minnesota, one man has a lot of cleaning up to do. It's almost hard to find
any sign that a tornado touched down in Minnesota, because most people who
live in the area escaped the worst of it. But when the storm did pick a
target, it left one farm in pieces. One look at what a tornado did to Brad
Scott's farm and you realize the homeowner was smart to ride it out in his
basement. Pieces of Scott's buildings flew up to a mile away. The twister
yanked poles out of four-foot deep holes. Scott says the storm seemed to
pick and choose where to hit."
