Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings from the wind tunnel of the mid Atlantic.
At 5:43 am the wind gusted out of the WSW at 64 mph. It help tie two all time
records for any month. It is the fifth day this month that the wind gusted 50+
mph. That ties the record set on several occasions and last set in November.
That record has been tied three times this year. To show you how unusual this
is consider that the old record for the number of days with gusts 50+ mph for a
whole YEAR was 12 set last year. Just the gusts from April, November and
December surpassed that record. The number of such days in 2003 now stands at 33.
It also ties another record. It is the second day this month where the wind
gusted 60+ mph which ties a record set on several occasions and last set also in
November. It is a good thing I have my toupee nailed down with railroad
spikes. Such is the life here at my homestead in the hills. Until later............
