Hello,
     Today in Baiting Hollow, NY the high temperature
sky rocketed to a new 9-year record high for November.
 At 2:03pm the temperature reached 78º. This is the
second time in three days that this feat was achieved
(first was Saturday at 74º). Todays record was
considerably higher than the old record coming into
the month, 72º. Today was warm enough to be in the
top five warmest days for October going back to 1994.
'Indian summer' huh, I'd call it 'Indian heat wave'.

P.S., there was also a report from an AWS wxstation in
Port Jefferson (~20miles west of me) of an 80.1º high temp.
