NWS REPORT:

0100 PM KENDALL FL TORNADO
09/05/03 MIAMI-DADE OFF DUTY WEATHER SERVICE
                                           EMPLOYEE REPORTED TORNADO
                                           NEAR METRO ZOO...APPEARED
                                           TO TOUCH GROUND FOR JUST A
                                           FEW MINUTES BEFORE LIFTING
                                           AGAIN.

MEDIA REPORT:

"A tornado briefly touched down at 12:58 p.m. Friday near MetroZoo in
southwest Miami-Dade County, National Weather Service officials said, but
there were no reports of damage or injuries.

The tornado dissipated quickly and a tornado warning that was issued was
canceled at 1:30 p.m., said Russell Post, a meteorologist at the National
Weather Service."
