"HONG KONG (Reuters) - Hong Kong braced on Tuesday for Typhoon Dujuan as it
churned toward the south China coast.

The Hong Kong Observatory said it expected to hoist strong wind signal No.
3 in the morning and could raise it to warning signal No. 8 -- Hong Kong's
third-highest storm warning -- later in the day, when the typhoon is
expected to be closest to the territory.

Schools, offices, many businesses and financial markets close when the No.
8 signal is raised. It indicates gale or storm force winds of 39-73 mph are
expected and gusts which may exceed 112 mph.

By early morning winds were picking up and heavy squalls were expected
later in the day, the Observatory said, warning of possible flooding in
low-lying areas. Shipowners scrambled to strengthen or add extra mooring
lines on their boats."
