QUOTES:

"MIKE CARROLL/PLAINSMAN

This oak tree southwest of Huron was uprooted in Saturday night's storm
that swept through the area. The tree was on a county road at the
intersection of 216th Street and 398th Avenue.

Although there were no reports of tornado being included with storms that
rolled through Beadle County on Saturday night, Bob and Peggy Hiles believe
that their farm near Broadland could've been a victim of a small twister.

The National Weather Service reported straight-line winds of up to 70 miles
per hour that were associated with Saturday's storm.

There were also several other reports of damage throughout Beadle County
from Saturday's storm.

A roof was torn off a metal building in Alpena, a quite sizeable oak tree
was toppled two miles of Highway 37 and two miles south of the Virgil oil,
and a cornfield five miles west of Hiles' farm, was destroyed by hail."
