The Collegio Romano meteo station may be the oldest continuously
functioning weather station in the world, with an unbroken weather and
climate record going back over 220 years! Climate researchers from all
over the world study the weather records from this one station, not only
because of it's unbroken length of record, but also because the
surrounding environment has changed little during that time (i.e., no
"urbanization" effects to distort the record)! So, when a new record is
set at this station, you can bet that it's "legit"!

Subject: Record heat
this is the situation here:
http://www.politicheagricole.it/ucea/Stazioni_RAN/STAZ_RM01.htm
The link is to that famous Collegio Romano meteo station (that
functioning
without gaps since AD 1782).
Please notice the maximum of yesterday: 34,8C (it is the highest max temp
ever recorded in June from 1782).
Please notice the minimum of yesterday: 23,0C (it is the highest min temp
ever recorded in June from 1782).
And forecast is for an increase of heat, at least till Friday.
The month of January 2003 was on average the coldest ever recorded since
1782 and the month of May was on average the hottest and the driest since
1782. This June is in good position to break every records.
Ciao,
Pierluigi.
