First off... yes im ok.. and alive... we werent hit with any tornado on the ground... but we had a heck of a scare this Friday Night at the Marengo Community High School as we were informed that we might be struck by a tornado. In the history of Marengo this has never been struck by a tornado directly, but we got a hell of a scare. We were at our 2003 Graduation and the worst part was being informed by the Police Dept. and Fire Dept. are ready to evacuate all 1600 attendies in the event that a tornado approaches and then hearing that a tornado warning has been issued for us! We werent permitted to leave the building until notified but I wish I could have to get some great photos. My friend Tristan Mortensen who also runs my websites with me, said he got some digital video of the clouds and when they began to re-rotate, so I got to wait to get the video back from him at a later date. Nothing like looking out the top windows in a gymnasium and seeing the green and pitch black skies meandering overhead...
and as Officer. Fritz of the Marengo Police Dept. told me afterwards... "Erik, it was real... I know you would have done anything to have seen this. It was the best thing I've seen out here in over 10 yrs."
Below is the bulletin from NWS on the storm that hit us... o... and for the record... no tornado actually hit the ground.
